500 yards off the bar-hopping scene of Key West, rests the secluded 27 tropical-acres of Sunset Key. On this tranquil little key you will find the Sunset Key Cottages – 2, 3 and 4 bedroom luxurious cottages.

This is a ‘Luxury Collection Resort’, so I was delighted when told, on a recent trip, that I would be staying here for three nights. I found myself ferried to the Sunset Key from the Westin Key West Resort and Marina; it’s just a 7-minute ride.

This was definitely ‘paradise found’, and an amazing experience for three days.

Each morning I was amazed to find a breakfast basket had been delivered to my front porch which included freshly baked muffins, croissants, fruit and jam.

Latitudes Restaurant, open for lunch and dinner, serves fresh island cuisine. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant one evening where exquisite island cuisine (yellowtail snapper, Ceviche, beef tenderloin) is served indoors or alfresco with “toes-in-the-sand’ overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

I found the bar was the most relaxing place to finish the day with a smart cocktail; while enjoying lovely views of the ocean and incredible sunsets.
