Lakeside Mayan Shaman Blessing at Casa Palopo on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
On the shore of Lake Atitlan sits a private home turned luxury boutique hotel that offers the lake and its magnificent volcanoes as a backdrop. Located in a destination built upon ancient Mayan culture and practices, Casa Palopo offers the best views as the sun sets over the San Pedro Volcano. Guests can request a personalized sunset experience with lake-front ceremony by a Mayan Shaman. With a blessing from the elements, and sweeping views of the lake, no sunset is ever the same. For an added touch of Atitlan magic, set sail on a barquito from the property’s private dock, and listen to the Cenzontles — Mexican mockingbirds — chirp, as the last rays of sun glaze over the lake.
Sunset Guacamole at CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa
Anyone can sit on the beach with a cocktail in hand, feet in sand, and watch the sunset…CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa wanted to offer something more interactive, something that most guests didn’t do on their last beach vacation, so that’s why they created the Sunset Guacamole experience. Every Tuesday and Friday, guests can head to the beachfront Las Casitas restaurant and find one of the resort’s guacamole experts working the molcajete and making some of the best guacamole on the planet. After a brief lesson, guests can take a seat and order their own to enjoy, as they watch the sun setting over the Pacific.
Sunset S’mores on the Beach at Sandpearl Resort
What does a perfect evening look like at Sandpearl Resort? Guests would agree that watching vibrant sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico set the mood for an incomparable night on the beach. What also makes the experience so special are Sandpearl’s long-standing traditions tied to the beautiful Clearwater Beach sunsets. Every night as the sun touches the horizon, a child is chosen by the Camp Ridley kids’ club mascot, Ridley the Turtle, to ring the historic sunset bell, which signifies the day’s passing and the evening’s future. Upon the sounding of the bell, guests make their way out of their rooms and the pool to roast s’mores on the beach at the hotel’s firepits, a favorite activity among families, couples, and friends.
Sunset Lechon on the Beach at San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino
When you find yourself on arguably the best beach in San Juan, San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino encourages you to take the experience to the next level with an authentic lechon on the beach celebration while watching the sunset. Drawing inspiration from Guavate lechoneras in the island’s mountains, the lechon pig roasting is a fun way to get a taste of Puerto Rican culture. The lechon experience occurs monthly and is open to all guests, travelers, and locals at an added cost and is also available for private booking for groups.
Sunset Steel Orchestra at Crystal Cove
Bajans love doing two things: limin’ and whinin’ – also known as enjoying a refreshing cocktail and dancing to Caribbean calypso music. When the sun goes down on Saturday nights, the heat turns up at Crystal Cove, the vibrant all-inclusive resort on Barbados’ stunning west coast. The Bajan celebration wouldn’t be complete without delicious foods, carefully crafted Mount Gay rum punch, and lively music, courtesy of the Sunset Steel Orchestra, of course! Guests can kick back and relax as they watch the sun dip beneath the horizon while the island band plays the Caribbean’s most famous calypso, soca, and reggae jams like “Red Red Wine,” “Day-O,” and “I Can See Clearly Now.”
